Most people have never been in an accident before and don’t know what to expect. This is a new and tragic experience for you and you might not know where to get the answers to questions you have. Q.   Are you able to match the paint on my car?


A.    Yes! We have a computerized paint matching system that contains the paint codes for every make and model of vehicle from 1990 and newer. Tricky color? No problem! We have a special camera called a Rapid Match that will scan a panel on your vehicle and calculate the closest paint code match.

Q.    How long will the repairs take?

A.   During the initial estimate we will be able to give you an estimated time frame that it will take to fix your vehicle. Sometimes there are hidden damages and broken parts that cannot be seen until the car is disassembled. If any additional repairs or parts are needed, you and your insurance company are notified and a new estimated completion date is given. We can keep you up to date on the repairs by phone, email, or text. Check out our Services page to learn more about the repair process.

Q.   Can I take my car anywhere I want to get fixed?

A.   Yes!! Insurance companies are not allowed to tell you where to take your car. It is called ‘steering’ and it is against the law for an insurance company to do this to you. They can suggest shops in your area that are available but they can not make you go there. Insurance companies can sometimes make you feel like you are obligated to use their preferred shops by promising faster turn around, less hassle, or better service. At Wellington Collision, our process is the same as any other shop. We are a smaller family owned business, allowing us to take our time with you making sure that all of your needs are met. We have the same equipment, computers, and experience as any other shop. When choosing a shop to take care of you, make sure it is someone you trust and feel comfortable with.

Q.   Can I get a ride home when dropping off my vehicle?

A.   Yes! We offer pick up and drop off services for your convenience.

Q.   Am I able to get other work done on my vehicle at the same time?

A.   Yes! We can give you a separate estimate for any repairs that are not accident related. Having additional work done at the same time has the potential to save you money.

Q.   Do I get a rental car?


A.   If you have rental coverage on your insurance the rental company will bill your insurance directly avoiding more paperwork for you. If you don’t have rental coverage, we are able to help with that too. We can offer lower rates to help with the cost of the repairs. You can also return the rental car to our shop when the repairs are complete, saving you one more stop.

Q.   My car is not drivable and I need a tow truck. What do I do?

A.   Most insurance companies offer towing from an accident scene. When you call your insurance company to report your accident, let them know where you would like your car towed to. Most tow companies can take your car directly to the shop, avoiding more delays. If you do not specify a shop at the time of the tow, the tow companies usually bring the vehicle back to their facility to await further instruction. Q.   How do I pay for the job and how does a deductible work?

A.   We accept cash or check only. You don’t owe anything until the job is complete and you are satisfied with the repairs. A deductible is what your portion of the repairs will be and is made payable to the repair facility, not the insurance company. We offer many discounts on deductibles so be sure to ask how when you stop in. We now offer special financing for deductibles and full repairs.

Q.   Do you accept my insurance?

A.   We accept all insurance companies. The process for insurance claims is handled the same way regardless of the insurance you have.
